The haiku is a highly artistic form of poetry, developed among the noble classes of Japan in the 16th century. Translated literally it means 'witticism'. It is written in a three-lined stanza, contains precisely seventeen syllables, and often relays a razor-sharp critique of current issues.

In Japan, the art of the swordsmith has an even longer heritage. Today, Haiku knives are manufactured in small Japanese knife factories out of high-grade Molybdenum Vanadium steel.

Hatsuru scissors are a classic Japanese tool that no home should be without. Hatsuru are used for cutting fine herbs and are so sharp that herbs can be cut cleanly and without crushing. This mean that the flavour and colour of the herbs stays in the leaves, rather than escaping onto the knife blade or being absorbed by your chopping board.

- Never wash Haiku scissors in the dishwasher, the aggressive detergents and the heat will damage the steel.
- Please do not cut bone or another hard materials with Haiku scissors.
